Springer Nature India Research Tour 2024 Reaches Manipal Academy of Higher Education

Mangalore (Karnataka) [India] October 15: The Springer Nature India Research Tour 2024 continued its momentum as it reached the prestigious Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), following successful stops at BITS Pilani K K Birla Campus and the Naval War College in Goa. The event featured an engaging panel discussion on the theme “Empowering Research through Open Access,” which explored the transformative power of open access in democratizing global research.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sili Rout, Deputy Director at the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), who highlighted the growing importance of open access for researchers across the country and its potential to drive inclusive innovation and knowledge dissemination. The panel discussion was moderated by Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Managing Director of Springer Nature India Private Limited and included Dr. Deepika Mishra, Associate Professor, Oral Pathology, CDER, AIIMS and Dr. Satish Rao, Director of Research at MAHE as panelists.

This landmark agreement enables MAHE researchers to publish their work in over 2,000 Springer hybrid journals with fees fully covered, marking a significant step towards democratizing access of scientific knowledge. The agreement ensures that the research produced at MAHE is freely accessible to scholars, practitioners, and the public worldwide, fostering greater collaboration and visibility.

As the Springer Nature India Research Tour 2024 progresses, the focus on open access and academic collaboration continues to resonate deeply with academic institutions and researchers across the country, fostering an ecosystem of inclusivity and innovation in scientific publishing.

The India Research Tour 2024 will now move to Kerala from Manipal and cover key institutions like IIM-Kozhikode and Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram.
