Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, lauded Vikram Kirloskar as a statesman of the auto industry who championed innovation, new technologies, and green energy.

Bangalore (Karnataka) [India], December 16: The inaugural CII Vikram Kirloskar Memorial Lecture, held at CII EXCON 2023 in Bengaluru yesterday, commemorated the visionary Vikram Kirloskar, renowned for his dedication to a cleaner, greener India and pioneering efforts towards transforming the automotive industry towards a greener future.

With an emphasis on futuristic innovation, strategic planning, and cutting-edge technology, coupled with large-scale production of alternative fuels, India stands at the threshold of becoming a net energy exporter.

Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, lauded Vikram Kirloskar as a statesman of the auto industry who championed innovation, new technologies, and green energy. Gadkari stated, “His commitment to ecology and environment was remarkable. In the history of the auto industry, particularly in the context of green energy, Vikram’s name will be the first to be mentioned, and we will always remember him for that.”

Gadkari further emphasized the significance of green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, stating, “It’s time to protect the ecology and the environment. Presently, we are importing energy, but I’m confident that we will be the country which will export energy, and with green energy, it can become possible.”

The lecture series commenced with Chandrajit Banerjee, Secretary General of CII, delivering a warm welcome address, highlighting Vikram Kirloskar’s profound contributions to CII and his lasting impact on the organization’s ethos and direction. Vikram Kirloskar’s dedication to CII, evident during his presidency (2019-2020), continues to shape the organization’s future.

The event also featured an address by Ms. Geetanjali Kirloskar, Chairperson and Managing Director of Kirloskar Systems Private Limited. Throughout the event, Vikram’s legacy of sustainability and innovation remained at the forefront, inspiring a greener, more harmonious future.
