Monk CI Announces USD 450K Pre-Seed Funding to Power the Future of AI-First Software Development

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 23: Monk CI, an emerging continuous integration (CI) platform designed specifically for modern AI-powered software engineering teams, has announced the successful closure of a $450,000 (approximately ₹4 crore) pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Campus Fund, with participation from Point One Capital and several prominent angel investors. The fresh capital will support product development, engineering expansion, enterprise security certifications, and market growth across India before the company begins its planned expansion into the United States.

The software development landscape has undergone a massive transformation with the rise of AI coding assistants that help developers generate code faster than ever before. While these tools have significantly increased productivity, they have also created a new challenge: traditional continuous integration systems are struggling to keep pace with the growing volume of code commits, pull requests, and automated testing workloads. Monk CI was founded to solve this exact problem by delivering a high-performance CI platform built for the speed and complexity of AI-assisted development.

Monk CI is the brainchild of Ujjwal Prashant and Nitin Mandale, both graduates of IIT Roorkee’s 2023 engineering batch. Having worked together for several years on enterprise software projects, the founders experienced firsthand the frustrations developers face with outdated CI infrastructure. Their vision was to build a solution that removes bottlenecks, minimizes infrastructure costs, and helps engineering teams release software faster without changing their existing workflows.

The newly raised investment will enable Monk CI to strengthen its engineering capabilities, expand its technical team, complete the rollout of its core infrastructure, and secure additional compliance certifications demanded by enterprise customers. The funding will also support customer acquisition initiatives and strategic partnerships as the company scales operations in India.

Unlike conventional CI platforms that often require extensive migration efforts, Monk CI integrates directly into existing GitHub workflows with a simple one-line configuration update. This allows software teams to immediately benefit from substantial improvements in build speed and operational efficiency while continuing to use familiar development processes.

According to the company, Monk CI can accelerate GitHub Actions workflows by as much as 10 times while reducing continuous integration costs by up to 75 percent. These improvements help engineering teams shorten software release cycles, improve developer productivity, and reduce cloud infrastructure expenses.

Performance is one of Monk CI’s strongest differentiators. The platform enables Docker image builds that are up to 40 times faster than conventional alternatives, cache restoration speeds that improve by four times, and compute performance that is approximately three times faster than standard CI runners. These capabilities become increasingly valuable as AI-generated code leads to more frequent software builds and larger testing workloads.

Beyond speed improvements, Monk CI incorporates artificial intelligence to simplify software debugging. Developers often spend valuable hours searching through lengthy build logs to determine why a build failed. Monk CI eliminates much of this manual effort by generating AI-powered summaries that identify the exact cause of failures in clear, easy-to-understand language.

The platform goes a step further with intelligent automation through self-healing AI agents. Instead of simply identifying problems, these agents can automatically create pull requests containing suggested fixes for failed builds, allowing developers to resolve issues much faster and maintain engineering momentum.

The founders believe that the continuous integration layer has remained largely unchanged despite rapid advances in software engineering practices. While organizations have embraced cloud-native technologies, containerization, Kubernetes, and AI-assisted coding, many still rely on legacy CI systems that suffer from slow Docker builds, restrictive concurrency limits, limited cache capacity, unpredictable pricing, and insufficient debugging capabilities.

Monk CI aims to replace these outdated systems with infrastructure optimized for modern engineering teams that continuously build, test, and deploy applications at scale. By combining high-performance infrastructure with AI-driven automation, the company hopes to become an essential part of the software development lifecycle for startups and enterprises alike.

Co-founder Ujjwal Prashant brings significant expertise in backend engineering and DevOps. During his final semester at IIT Roorkee, he joined EZAIX as Head of Engineering, where he led engineering operations while contributing to business strategy and product development. He later joined Deutsche Bank as a Backend and DevOps Engineer, where he optimized enterprise software delivery pipelines, reducing testing time from five hours to just 45 minutes while building scalable cloud-native systems using Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform.

His co-founder, Nitin Mandale, previously served as Chief Technology Officer at EZAIX, overseeing product architecture, enterprise engineering, and technology strategy. During his tenure, he successfully led projects for major organizations including Microsoft, Kroger, the State of South Dakota, and the US Department of State. His experience managing enterprise deployments and compliance requirements has been instrumental in shaping Monk CI into an enterprise-ready platform.

The founders’ professional partnership dates back to their first year at IIT Roorkee. Their shared experiences building complex software systems and managing enterprise infrastructure exposed the recurring challenges associated with continuous integration, ultimately inspiring the creation of Monk CI.

Security remains a key priority for enterprise adoption. Monk CI has already achieved SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance, ensuring that organizations adopting the platform can meet stringent security, privacy, and data protection requirements.

Looking ahead, Monk CI plans to continue investing in AI-powered capabilities, infrastructure optimization, and customer success initiatives. As AI continues reshaping software development worldwide, the company believes engineering teams will increasingly require CI platforms purpose-built for higher build volumes, faster deployment cycles, and intelligent automation.

With fresh funding, experienced founders, enterprise-grade security, and technology designed for the AI era, Monk CI is positioning itself as a next-generation infrastructure platform that enables developers to build better software faster, more efficiently, and at significantly lower cost than traditional continuous integration solutions.
